Sensor chips for MACS Matchmaker

Find the right sensor chip for your scientific question!

At the heart of the MACS® Matchmaker platform are lino Biotech’s proprietary sensor chips, engineered to deliver precise and reliable measurements of molecular interactions. Each chip is fabricated on an advanced optical waveguide, ensuring exceptional data quality.

The sensor surface is arranged as a highly versatile 8 × 8 array, resulting in 64 individual sensors. This architecture enables true parallelization, maximizing data throughput and allowing multiple conditions, replicates, or controls to be measured simultaneously.

Combined with integrated microfluidic flow channels, the consumable design incorporates the fluidics directly into the sensor. This simplifies handling and reduces the need for frequent instrument maintenance. That holds even with crude or complex biological samples such as cell lysates, blood, or culture supernatants.

To adapt to different research needs, lino Biotech offers two immobilization strategies. These solutions provide flexibility in ligand coupling, supporting a broad spectrum of applications ranging from antibody characterization to small-molecule drug discovery.

Click Chemistry Chips

provide covalent immobilization of biomolecules onto the sensor surface. Using an optimized Click Chemistry strategy, these chips ensure long-term stability and compatibility with a wide range of biomolecular targets. The 2D PEG layer with the integrated molographic template keeps non-specific binding low, which suits applications that need a durable sensing surface. They are ideal if you only have a limited amount of ligand. Like any covalent immobilization, they require a regeneration protocol for each immobilized target.

DNA sensor chips

are equipped with predefined DNA oligonucleotide patterns (20 mers) that enable specific and versatile target immobilization. Using palindromic DNA-sequence linkers, these chips simplify functionalization for a variety of biomolecules. They are particularly suited for multiplexed analysis, as they facilitate simultaneous evaluation of multiple interactions on the same chip. In addition, they are easily regeneratable and usually no custom regeneration protocols need to be developed. The DNA can simply be dehybridized and a new DNA conjugated molecule or adapter can be applied.

While both solutions are designed to advance biomolecular interaction studies, each offers distinct features and advantages. In combination with our Oligo Adapters, they provide a complete and flexible toolkit for immobilization strategies across diverse applications. With their high combinatorial capacity and ease of use, lino Biotech’s sensor chips are the foundation of every focal molography measurement.
